As everyone is familiar that people across different cultures and nations have different beliefs and behavior, managing these differences in different cultures involves knowledge and understanding of how events or objects are defined and described in various cultures. Language, behavior, and institutions are the specific phenomena that are different in every nation and culture and are known to be as nominal differences. While, the other type of differences called the systematic differences consists of various fundamental differences existing in the types of values, philosophy, and beliefs of social regulation, which drives the manifested, observed phenomena in a culture or nation. Hence, to manage these cross-cultural or cross-national partnerships in an effective manner, there should be a well understanding, as well as, management of both systematic and nominal differences existing between the partnerships (Graen Hui, 1996). Historically, the intercultural cooperation was used to be attained by dominating the one culture by the other. However, this approach resulted in various dysfunctional outcomes involving resistance by means of violent and nonviolent methods. In the article published by Graen et al., this approach is addressed by the name of Two cultures. According to Graen et al., two cultures is when the two partners are not willing to accept the cultures of each other and try to enforce their cultures and beliefs on each other. The third culture is focused on transcending and bridging of the two different cultures. In the process of bridging the existing cultural differences, the third cultures consist of different ways to convey compromises between the two distinct cultural practices. Moreover, this approach not only focuses on the nominal differences but also recognizes the systematic differences. Hence, through bridging the existing cultural differences, the partners from the different culture find methods to come up with the management programs and techniques, as well as, organizational practices that are acceptable to both the cultures (Graen Hui, 1996). According to Graen et al., the absence of the third culture can result in the failures very easily in the cross-cultural or cross-national business partnerships, while cultivation and use of a third culture often lead to the success. The evidence for his findings has been supported by a case study of a Japanese company. The Japanese companys venture i n Australia failed due to the failure of developing a cross-cultural partnerships between Australians and Japanese. As they never developed a third culture in their partnership they failed to mature into cross-culture partnerships. However, after few years when they developed a third culture during establishing a new venture in America, it leads to the successful venture. There was a development of a cross-cultural partnerships between the American and Japanese managers, which allowed sharing of "insider" hopes, solutions, and fears. They attained real understanding, knowledge and formed third culture procedures for decision-making. Hence, clearly describing the importance of the third culture in the management of cross-cultural partnerships. Graen et al. described the ways by which a third culture could be established and the requirement of transcultural for establishing the third culture. To become transcultural, the following characteristics are required, which are cultural adven turers, cultural sensitizer, discrepant cultural insider, comparative culture judges, and socializing sensitizers (Graen Hui, 1996). There are various researchers who are in support for the concept of third culture, like according to Wendi et al., third culture is the multi-cultural partners shared schema, which not only consists of knowledge of team and work, but also contains a shared system of values, beliefs, as well as, norms established in the two different cultures of the partnership members and helps in overcoming the cultural differences existing between the cross-cultural partnerships (L. Adair, H. Tinsley, S. Taylor, 2006). Useem et al. defined the third culture to be shared and learned behavior patterns of the individuals from distinct cultures who are communicating with each other. The research has shown that the management of the international business is inseparable from the concept of cultural differences because culture represents the shared norms, beliefs, symbols, and values that direct life of people of different groups (McIntyre and Foti, 2013). Moreover, the use of traditional two cultures is inadequate of solving the cultural diversities in the period of globalization (Demoulin and de Dreu, 2010). Hence, I also believe that the idea and development of the third culture is beneficial in overcoming the barriers faced by the culturally different environment in the organization and agrees with the authors point of view. As the third culture helps in identification and understanding of the cultures and beliefs of both the partners, it decreases the rise of conflict that can originate from the two different teams having different beliefs and values. Moreover, besides understanding the culture of both the partners it also transcends both the cultures and works for both of them (Earley Mosakowski, 2000). It is not just a concept based on the compromises, but also a new method of thinking and performing tasks in a way that are compatible to both the sides of the partnership and works effectively in accordance with the companys technology. Method:- First I got a TLC plate and measured 1cm above the plate and drew a line, then I measured 4cm wide from the side. Measure 1cm from the side, take 2 test tubes and put in a 3rd of the aspirin with the spatula into the test tube, then a 3rd of the commercial aspirin into another test tube. Add 2. 5 ml of ethanol and 2. 5ml of dye chloromethane to another test tube and mix it together. Take a pipette and add 1cm of the solution to each test tube containing the aspirin, shake well do the aspirin dissolves, then get a capillary tube and put it on the TLC Plate and let it dry, you place the dots with the capillary tube four times and see the colour, then get a beaker and add ethanol acetate into the beaker and wait until the four dots go up on the TLC Plate and change colour and then make a mark. Results:-From my results I got two different results this is because, I used two different aspirins, a commercial aspirin which affected the results because in the commercial aspirin, chemicals where added and in the original aspirin I got normal results. Evaluation: While I was doing experiments in found it easy to work with a partner, the method was easy to set up, I found it difficult to understand the concept of some of the techniques used. Io found it easy to put the equipment away and use it, I had no problem. But because of the science laboratory, we didn’t have all of the resources that we needed so we didn’t make pure aspirin, if I had to do the experiments again I would make sure that I have all the resources that I need to make pure aspirin.

This is based on development activities such as coaching and rewards for exemplary performances. Question 3 Motivation revolves around what people are made to think, behave or act in a certain way. The relationship between motivation and performance management is not complicated to understand. For instance, it is correct to state that highly motivated employees will offer better performance. Therefore, greater motivation leads to a sense of better performance. The theories that follow below offer both insight and advice on how people make working choices based on available rewards, individual preferences, and perceived outcomes of their work. The reinforcement theory is centered on the law of effect by E.L Thorndike and gives a description of how behavior and consequences relate. This theory shifts its focus on the modification of an employee’s behavior while working through appropriate employment of certain techniques (Rantapuska, 157). The other theory is referred to as the goal setting theory that was introduced by Edwin Locke in the 60s. This theory suggests that goal oriented intentions are major sources pf motivation. In essence, goals direct employees on what they need to do and the amount of effort they should input. Primarily, the theory states the level of performance rises as the goals become more difficult. Question 4 One factor to be taken into consideration when managing performance includes the level of skill. In this case, there is need to train managers with the necessary skill thus making them able to manage employees. The other factor involves relevance. In this case, it is necessary to analyze employees whose output does not affect the overall performance of the organization. Once identified, they have to be laid off. The third factor rests with identifying what component to evaluate (Ohemeng, 105). This involves proper identification of the components that relate to the organization’s performance and fine-tuning the identified component. Ultimately, this involves aligning the individual, team, and organizational efforts aimed at achieving the business goals as well as the organizational success. Her computerization of the process is also noteworthy, as it has also reduced the amount of physical paperwork that is needed for recording of information in the department. This is commendable and her enthusiasm in the process should be extended to her other areas of expertise in order to increase the efficiency of the entire organization. PA Work Salma’s willingness to extend a helping hand is perfect to a fault. She has been noted as being always available when help is needed, and she will work diligently to achieve what is required of her. However, she seems to struggle with prioritizing the necessity of her actions. This becomes limiting as urgent workloads are always accomplished at the last minute. This increases the possibility for errors as the work is not done with the sufficiency that is demanded of the workforce. Therefore, the main recommendation would be that Salma should learn to prioritize her urgent affairs in order to ensure that her determination to help others does not limit the efficiency of her overall output. Despite the limitations that have been noted, Salma is a good fit for the company and she should excel if she makes a note of the recommendations that are outlined above. The meeting for the assessment should be in line with the areas noted above, with each noted and dealt with individually. I was not immediately aware that the black man and the white woman were the focus of the story, but those characters gradually emerged and thats when things started to get interesting. It becomes very obvious that white women want to control everything in the relationship and doesnt iew the black man as an equal partner. Before they meet at the beach, the white women walks up in her bikini holding her towel, fashion magazine, and tanning lotion with her blonde hair swinging side to side. I automatically start to view her as an egotistical person. When the white women encounters the black man at the beach, she helps him push the boat to the water, but instead of helping him push the boat all the way from shore, she hops in it before her feet had even got wet. He was left to not only push the boat himself, rolling his pant legs up, but also pushing her in it as well. While he is rowing the boat he realizes he didnt bring a hat and he is sweating. He wraps his shirt around his head and she explains to him that he looks like a sheik and a galley slave. To me this shows how she thinks of him as her own romanticized slave that she can control. She even reassures him that she was not kidding by saying no really. Honestly. (68). The man continues to row and she says shes starting to put on weight and then she tells the man that she told her mother about them and their situation, but she never looked at him when she was talking to him. Her eyes were closed and directed oward the sun. She isnt treating him like she cares; she is Just caring on with her sun bathing. Then she tells him that she is going to have an abortion that afternoon. She does this without even asking the man if thats what he wants to do. Even after he expresses hatred towards the situation and basically tells her he wants her to keep the baby she doesnt listen. She Just insists that everything will return to normal when its done. He asks her what happened and she brushes the question off and explains her mother is 0k with him. You can tell he cares about her mothers opinion f him as he wants the reassurance that her mother actually likes him. The woman explains her mother Just thinks she is fragile from depression. Honestly I feel like the women had had other abortions and Just didnt want to be honest with the man. After some time had passed, the woman asks him how long he was going to fish. He tells her about an hour and offers to row her to a swimming spot if she would rather swim. She turns down the offer and makes appoint to mention the fact that she has to be back in time to make it to her abortion later that afternoon; again aking it known she is making this decision on ner own. The women sta rts looking through her magazine while the man continued for a few more casts then he finally gave up and said, No sense fishing when the fish aint feeding. The whole point is catching fish, right? (71). This is the mans turning point. I think he realized that the relationship he was in was kind of like fishing, there was no point in him being with her if she didnt want to move on to the next level. Before rowing back into shore, he said he wished he could Just leave here there. She gets very nervous when he said hat and tells him they have to go back. Thats when the man decided that it was time to move on with his life and he said, You mean, you have to go back. (71). He rows back and all the people are carrying on like they were before except now things are changing for them. The White woman goes with her towel and magazine to have her abortion and back to living with her mother, while the Black man goes on his own separate way while watching the women leave.

The debate over who is the tragic hero in Antigone continue on to this day. The belief that Antigone is the hero is a strong one. There are many critics who believe, however, that Creon, the Ruler of Thebes, is the true protagonist. I have made my own judgments also, based on what I have researched of this work by Sophocles. Antigone is widely thought of as the tragic hero of the play bearing her name. She would seem to fit the part in light of the fact that she dies in doing what is right. She buries her brother without worrying what might happen to her. She "Takes into consideration death and the reality that may be beyond death" (Hathorn 59). Those who do believe that Antigone was meant to be the true tragic hero argue against others who believe that Creon deserves that honor. They say that the Gods were against Creon, and that he did not truly love his country. "His patriotism is to narrow and negative and his conception of justice is too exclusive... to be dignified by the name of love for the state" (Hathorn 59). These arguments, and many others, make many people believe the Antigone is the rightful protagonist. Many critics argue that Creon is the tragic hero of Antigone. They say that his noble quality is his caring for Antigone and Ismene when thier father was persecuted. Those who stand behind Creon also argue that Antigone never had a true epiphany, a key element in being a tragic hero. Creon, on the other hand, realized his mistake when Teiresias made his prophecy. He is forced to live, knowing that three people are dead because of his ignorance, which is a punishment worse than death. My opinion on this debate is that Antigone is the tragic hero. She tries to help her brother without worrying about what will happen to her. She says, "I intend to give my brother burial. I'll be glad to die in the attempt, -if it's a crime, then it's a crime that God commands" (Sophocles 4). She was also punished for doing what was right. Her epiphany came, hidden from the audience, before she hung herself. Creon's "nobleness" of taking in young Antigone and Ismene is overshadowed by his egotistical nature. He will not allow justice to come about simply because he wants to protect his image. He says, "If she gets away with this behavior, call me a woman and call her a man" (Sophocles 13).
